My Hebraic Community Flood Relief Partnership with Convoy of Hope
Our community is experiencing compounded pain after two devastating floods. Last year’s flood brought heartbreaking loss of life, widespread attention, and significant resources. This year’s flood has caused even greater damage in many areas, yet the continuing needs of our families, churches, and neighborhoods have received far less attention.
In response, Paul has remained in close communication with Jeff Cox, Church Engagement Director for Convoy of Hope, following the recent Grace & Groceries delivery. Convoy of Hope will be in our area on September 3 to see firsthand the extent of the strain this second flood has placed on our community.
Paul has invited pastors from Hunt to Comfort, as well as pastors from Uvalde, to gather for a luncheon with Jeff Cox. This meeting will give local ministry and community leaders an opportunity to share what they are seeing, identify the most pressing long-term needs, and work together toward relief, recovery, and renewed hope.
Jeff will also tour the affected areas with Paul to better understand the damage and the needs that remain.
Pastors Luncheon
Local pastors were invited to join this important luncheon. In the wake of the second flood, Jeff Cox is coming to listen, learn, and help assess the most pressing needs within our region.
We have asked them to please come prepared to share observations from their congregation, neighborhoods, businesses, and the families they serve. Their voice is vital as we build a clear picture of the challenges facing our communities and develop a collaborative path forward.

How the Partnership Could Work
My Hebraic Community is partnering with Convoy of Hope to distribute donated food and essential household items. MHC will serve as a central distribution center, allowing churches throughout the region to receive supplies and coordinate local delivery to families in need.
This partnership will activate a large community workforce and unite brick and mortar churches of small to medium sized around a shared mission: serving our neighbors with practical help, compassion, and hope.
MHC will coordinate:
• Receiving and storing donated food and household supplies
• Scheduling church participation and community distribution
• Organizing volunteers and delivery efforts
• Communicating distribution dates and locations to the public
• Building greater unity among churches and community partners
Prayer and Support Needed
Please pray for Paul as he works to bring visibility, resources, and coordinated support to our flood-affected communities. Pray also for wisdom, unity among churches, provision for families, and clear direction for this long-term recovery effort.
We invite individuals, churches, and businesses to consider how they can become involved.
Current needs include:
• Website management and communication support
• Color printer cartridges, paper, and postage
• A large warehouse or storage facility
• A forklift and pallet jack
• Operational funding
• Electricity and facility expenses
• Staff and volunteer support
• Resources to sustain a six- to nine-month relief operation
